Church becomes Sikh Temple

A spectacular Victorian church has changed its religion and is converting to a Sikh temple in a two hundred thousand pound makeover.

The Sikh community took over the grade two listed Christ Church in Sunderland in 2000 after it had being lying empty for around four years.

Now, with the help of English Lottery funding it will be transformed into a new place of worship.
