Since the shooting occurred a few days ago, I've been in a flurry of news articles and video clips. I find myself wanting to know each detail of the shooting. Was the shooter a white supremacist? How many Sikhs were present? Has the FBI classified it as domestic terrorism? What is the reaction of the Sikh sangat world-wide?

Then I realized what's really important to me. There are souls that have left their bodies, and I think my place is to do them honor. I've decided to do Japji Sahib every day for 17 days. I would like to invite all others to join in with me either doing an Ardas or Japji Sahib or both every day for 17 days. It will finish on August 22nd. If you want to do this as well, start a facebook event and get your friends to join in.

I'm setting the intention that the souls of the 6 Sikhs be liberated. They martyred themselves peacefully, perhaps to open our eyes to something. They might not have known it when they decided to come to the Gurdwara that day, but their souls had a contract to leave that day. Whatever purpose this was for is known only to Akal Purkh.

As far as the shooter, my intention is that his soul be blessed as well. While we live in this dark age many people live in perpetual misery and confusion without the blessing of the Naam. I feel sorry for this man to be so disconnected with the spirit inside of himself that he would harm others in this way.
