Washington DC; April 1, 2009: SALDEF is proud to announce that Gurumustuk Singh, founder of SikhNet, will be recognized with the 2009 SALDEF Youth Leadership Award during

SALDEF’s 2009 Civil Rights Awards Gala on May 2, 2009 in Los Angeles.

Mr. Khalsa founded SikhNet which he developed from its early incarnation on the Web in 1995 into a premiere, deeply loved and deeply respected Sikh web site.

He also is the founder of SikhMatrimonials.com which is the premiere web-based matrimonial service specifically focused on Sikhs. His personal Blog can be found on the Web at MrSikhNet.com.

Through Gurumustuk Singh's leadership and devotion to the Sikh community, SikhNet has developed into a world-class web community linking Sikhs from across the Globe.

Through his guidance and direction, Sikhs all over the nation, many in some of the smallest communities, have developed a sense of community and faith that is necessary to maintain and further the practice of Sikhism. Gurumustuk Singh and his wife, Dr. Arjan Kaur live together with their two children, Narayan Singh and Charanjeet Kaur in Espanola, New Mexico.
