ਕਰ ਲਈ ਪੜ੍ਹਾਈ ਤੂੰ ਸਾਰੇ ਜਗ ਦੀ ਸਿੰਘਾ, ਹੁਣ ਕਰ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਅਣਖ ਲਈ ਲੜਾਈ ਵੇ । ਚੋਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਫਤਹਿ ਬੁਲਾਕੇ, ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੰਥ ਦੀ ਲਾਜ ਬਚਾਕੇ, ਬੈਠਾ ਫੇਰ ਤੂੰ ਮੁਲਕ ਦੇ ਤਖਤ'ਤੇ, ਹੁਣ ਭੁਲੀਂ ਨਾ, ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਦੋਹਰਾ ਦੇ । ਕਰ ਲਈ ਪੜ੍ਹਾਈ ਤੂੰ ਸਾਰੇ ਜਗ ਦੀ ਸਿੰਘਾ, ਹੁਣ ਕਰ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਅਣਖ ਲਈ ਲੜਾਈ ਵੇ । ਦਸਤਾਰ ਦੀ ਤੂੰ ਸ਼ਾਨ ਵਧਾਈ, ਕੌਮਾਂਤਰੀ ਪੱਧਰ'ਤੇ ਪੱਗ ਲਿਸ਼ਕਾਈ। ਹੁਣ ਲੈਕੇ ਕੁਝ ਫੈਸਲੇ ਅਵੱਲੇ, ਕਰਦੇ ਕੌਮ ਦੀ ਬੱਲੇ-ਬੱਲੇ । ਕਰ ਲਈ ਪੜ੍ਹਾਈ ਤੂੰ ਸਾਰੇ ਜਗ ਦੀ ਸਿੰਘਾ, ਹੁਣ ਕਰ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਅਣਖ ਲਈ ਲੜਾਈ ਵੇ । ਤੇਰੀ ਸਾਦਗੀ ਤੋਂ ਵਾਰੇ-ਵਾਰੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ, ਤੈਨੂੰ ਟੀ.ਵੀ'ਤੇ ਵੇਖ-ਵੇਖ ਇਤਰਾਉਂਦੇ । ਹੁਣ ਕਰੀਂ ਨਾ ਭਾਵਨਾਵਾਂ ਦਾ ਬੁਰਾ ਹਸ਼ਰ ਵੇ, ਜੇ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਅਸਾਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਆਦਰਸ਼ ਵੇ । ਕਰ ਲਈ ਪੜ੍ਹਾਈ ਤੂੰ ਸਾਰੇ ਜਗ ਦੀ ਸਿੰਘਾ, ਹੁਣ ਕਰ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਅਣਖ ਲਈ ਲੜਾਈ ਵੇ । ਕਾਂਗਰਸੀਆ ਹੋਵੇ ਜਾਂ ਹੋਵੇ ਅਕਾਲੀ, ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਭ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ'ਚ ਜਗ੍ਹਾ ਬਣਾ ਲਈ । ਸਾਰੀ ਕੌਮ ਨੂੰ ਤੈਥੋਂ ਬੜੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਉਮੀਦਾਂ, ਹੁਣ ਨਿਜ-ਪ੍ਰਸਤੀ ਦੀ ਸੱਟ ਨਾ ਮਾਰੀਂ ਵੇ । ਕਰ ਲਈ ਪੜ੍ਹਾਈ ਤੂੰ ਸਾਰੇ ਜਗ ਦੀ ਸਿੰਘਾ, ਹੁਣ ਕਰ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਅਣਖ ਲਈ ਲੜਾਈ ਵੇ । ਤੂੰ ਤਾਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੱਖੀਂ ਵੇਖਿਆ, ਸੰਤਾਲੀ, ਚੌਰਾਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਾਸੀ ਦਾ ਸਾਕਾ । ਹੁਣ ਕੁਝ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਕਰਕੇ ਜਾਵੀਂ, ਨਾ ਹੋਵੇ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਘੱਲੂਘਾਰਾ ਵੇ। ਕਰ ਲਈ ਪੜ੍ਹਾਈ ਤੂੰ ਸਾਰੇ ਜਗ ਦੀ ਸਿੰਘਾ, ਹੁਣ ਕਰ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਅਣਖ ਲਈ ਲੜਾਈ ਵੇ । ਵਡਮੁੱਲਾ ਹੀਰਾ ਤੂੰ ਸਾਡੀ ਕੌਮ ਦਾ, ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇਸ਼ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਲਾਇਆ ਵੇ। ਜੇ ਕਦੀ ਸੋਚੇਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਉਮਰ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਵਧੇਰੇ, ਯਾਦ ਕਰ ਲਈਂ ਓਦੋਂ ਬਾਬੇ ਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੂੰ ਵੇ । ਕਰ ਲਈ ਪੜ੍ਹਾਈ ਤੂੰ ਸਾਰੇ ਜਗ ਦੀ ਸਿੰਘਾ, ਹੁਣ ਕਰ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਅਣਖ ਲਈ ਲੜਾਈ ਵੇ । ਹੁਣ ਤਾਂ ਜਗ'ਤੇ ਜਾਹਰ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ, ਕਿ ਸਿਘਾਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਵਰਗਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਸਦਕਾ, ਪੰਥ ਦੀ ਸਰਦਾਰੀ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹੇਗੀ, ਅਤੇ ਸਿੰਘ ਰਚਣਗੇ ਰੋਜ ਨਵਾਂ ਇਤਿਹਾਸਵੇ । ਕਰ ਲਈ ਪੜ੍ਹਾਈ ਤੂੰ ਸਾਰੇ ਜਗ ਦੀ ਸਿੰਘਾ, ਹੁਣ ਕਰ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਅਣਖ ਲਈ ਲੜਾਈ ਵੇ । ਕਰ ਲਈ ਪੜ੍ਹਾਈ ਤੂੰ ਸਾਰੇ ਜਗ ਦੀ ਸਿੰਘਾ, ਹੁਣ ਕਰ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਅਣਖ ਲਈ ਲੜਾਈ ਵੇ । ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕਾ ਖਾਲਸਾ, ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕੀ ਫਤਹਿ। |

And "ਲੜਾਈ" according to this poem refers to taking bold decisions and not fighting physically. And "ਆਪਣੀ ਅਣਖ" means the self-respect of the sikh-community.
