Guru Prem Singh Khalsa is an amazing body worker and healer with a deep understanding of posture, breath and body mechanics.  A former champion gymnast, he now teaches yoga and has a healing practice called Divine Alignment in Los Angeles, California. Guru Prem Singh and his wife Simran Kaur have recently published a beautiful "Yoga for Dummies" book called "The Heart Rules." Guru Prem understands that everybody's body is different and that people have differing degrees of flexibility.

The Heart Rules is a manual for creating a change of consciousness within yourself from a head-centered approach to life to a heart-centered way of living.

Based on simple but extremely powerful yoga kriyas taught by Yogi Bhajan and filled with joyous, simple clear and humorous illustrations by Harijot Kaur Khalsa, the book is a delight to read and use.

If you want to get your yoga practice started, I can't think of a better way to do it than this book.  And if you already have a yoga practice, or teach yoga to others, The Heart Rules will serve you as great tool in your practice.

The kriyas and meditations are fully explained in clear, unambiguous language that is easy to follow. The chapters proceed from Recognition through Reclamation to Realization and include (among many others!)

  • Tuning In
  • Exercises for the Heart Center
  • Creative Energy Kriya
  • Professional Anger Kriya
  • Sacred Heart and Pure Heart

If you've been hesitating to get into yoga because you've been thinking, "I'm not flexible enough" or "It seems a bit scary" then now is the time to take the plunge and give it a go.  The Heart Rules makes it easy and fun and you will have a wonderful experience as you proceed through the easy but extremely powerful exercises.  Go ahead, try it. I guarantee you will like it.  A lot!

Every copy of The Heart Rules comes with a beautifully performed original music and mantra CD to use as a companion to the meditations in the book. You can listen to the music from the included CD here.
