Film Synopsis
Five centuries ago, Guru Nanak planted seeds of Divine Truth in Punjab that have since grown roots across the globe. GAAVANI is a powerful testament to the women in North America who have nurtured their gifts and brought them back home to empower their sisters across the globe. This film follows 31 Sikh female practitioners of Gurmat Sangeet as they come together in an epic journey to claim their spiritual inheritance and birthright. Singing in the 31 primary Raags of the Guru Granth Sahib Ji, they bring the majesty of the Shabad to the global stage, recognizing the female voice as an instrument of Divine depth and a central pillar of Sikh spirituality.
