and Earth is the Great Mother of All... -Guru Nanak
Global Citizen 2015 Earth Day marks the 45th anniversary of Earth Day. Be a part of the Sikh representation on Earth Day in Washington DC! Our Gurus reminded us to see the Earth as our Divine Mother - to respect and protect it and we're happy to be joining in this historic moment.
Thousands of people will be present at the National Mall for this Earth Day event, much like on the first Earth Day in 1970. Following rallies across the country, landmark environmental laws were passed to protect our environment and make sure that future generations will be able to have a healthy Earth to call home.
This year, we ask you to join EcoSikh and fellow Sikhs in the largest environmental celebration of the year! Help us send a message to lawmakers that we want to protect Mata Dharat for us and future generations!

"Earth Day is the largest secular event in the world - and more people join in every year. Men, women and children will haul garbage, clean up coral reefs and mountain trails, show movies, sign petitions, march to solve the climate crises, hold town hall meetings to plan a better future, and rally to save the great apes, dwindling tigers, embattled elephants and other threatened species. More than 100 million schoolchildren around the world will learn about the importance of clean air and water; thousands of federal, state, and local governments will issue reports about their environmental achievements and records and make pledges to improve their environmental performance and invest in green technology; and tens of thousands of clergy members will give sermons about the importance of protecting God's creation."From Earth Day Network
