JOB DESCRIPTION: Office Manager


The Sikh Council on Religion and Education is a nonprofit organization
currently seeking to fill the position of a full- time
Office Manager/Executive Assistant
based in Washington, DC.
The ideal candidate will be a bright self-starter who has the understanding of various national and global issues and is able to help increase the Sikh community’s engagement at multiple levels nationally and internationally.


Major Responsibilities:

Annual salary will be in the range of $24,000- 30,000 and will be determined based on capability and experience.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and managing SCORE’s presence in Washington in various platforms
  • Manage communication and reporting related to SCORE's initiatives in Washington and abroad
  • Ability to communicate (verbal and in writing) effectively with the Board and the Community at large (partners, donors, volunteers)
  • Demonstrated ability to fully leverage on-line channels (such as email, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube) to generate purposeful communication
  • Inspiring and enrolling others through our work and creating a network across the Globe
  • Plan, organize and execute Fund Raisers in North America
  • Manage volunteers and interns to provide support for programming needs
  • Direct annual budget planning and monthly/quarterly reporting
  • Manage presentations and financial reports for Board/staff meetings
  • Manage communications for media, including web and press releases
  • Maintain & update all web services including content
  • Work with colleagues to coordinate and create compelling monthly Newsletters, Annual Reports and other organizational collateral
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, work within tight deadlines, and maintain high level of productivity
  • Excellent attention to detail and exceptional ability to deliver results
  • Openness to work occasional evenings and weekends to meet events and project deadlines
  • Ability to work both independently and as a key member of a motivated, self driven and high energy team

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree and minimum 2 years of working experience required
  • Proficiency in English and Punjabi required
  • Experience of working in a non-profit, community development or educational institution preferred
