International Sikh Youth Symposium took place from Aug 5-8 in Scarborough Gurdwara in Toronto, Canada this year.
The Symposium started with Convener's Meeting on Thursday evening.Dr Satpal Singh ji Chairman of the Educational committee discussed the various books for the next two years and then finalized selection process.
Friday morning group one [ages 6-8] and group two [ages 9-10] delivered speeches in front of the sangat and designated Judges.
The afternoon group 3 [ages 11-13] and group four [ages 14-17] spoke on their respective subjects.
The same evening Banquet at Platinum Convention Center took place to honor the Sikh Youth Winners.
The highlights of the program included a keynote speech from Bibi Manpreet Kaur ji, Historical play, Magician performance, Instrumental Music and Vibrant Gatka.
On Saturday Group five [ages 15-22] participated in discussion on 'Singh Sabha Movement.' Total 11 youth discussed historical movement for total 6 hours with questions and answers. On the same evening every one enjoyed the visit to Famous CN tower.
Aug 8, was the day for rewards and certificates.

Following were the winners in each group:
Group one - Meher Kaur,Simran Kaur,Simran preet Kaur.
Group two - Jaslina Kaur,Harchint Singh Gurjit Kaur.
Group three - Arjun Singh,,Manan Singh Sehaj Singh.
Group four - Jasmeet Kaur,Tejasvir Singh,Japman Kaur.
Group five - Jaywin Singh,Meher Kaur,Satpreet Kaur.
Group five was also given cash prize of $1000, $750 and &500 for 1st , 2nd and 3rd prize winners.
All the winners were given a trophy and certificates.
All the participants who spoke in Punjabi were rewarded extra cash prize of $30.
All the Judges as well as conveners from the all eleven zones were also given a certificates of appreciation.
Arvind Kaur ji-host of 'Galbaat Show' of Jus Punjabi also came to attend the program with her children and family.
Every morning families staying in the hotel performed Nitnem arranged by Dr.Manbir Singh ji. Manjit Singh ji - local convener of the program handled host duty very well with full support of president of the Scarborough Gurdwara, Gobinder Singh ji. Kuldeep singh ji -national convener of the program oversaw the four day event .This program ended with the speech from Bibi Paramjit Kaur Khalda who informed the sangat about atrocities and disappearances in Punjab during 1984 period. She Appealed to sangat not to greet the leaders from Punjab but ask them questions about human rights violations.
