HAZOOR SAHIB (KP) - Following Akal Takhat Sahib's directive that any controversial topics must be decided after the conclusion of the 300th Gurta-Gaddi celebrations, the Jathedar of Takhat Sri Hazoor Sahib finally appeared in public and dispelled all doubts about bani in Dasam Granth Sahib. Singh Sahib Giani Kulwant Singh appealed to uphold the values and beliefs bestowed to the Khalsa Panth by Guru Gobind Singh Ji and to provide full respect to his gifts.
"Singh Sahib asked all Sikhs to not indulge in any controversies in relation to the authenticity of Dasam Granth Sahib"
While appealing to the Sikh Sangat from Takhat Sri Hazoor Sahib, Singh Sahib asked all Sikhs to not indulge in any controversies in relation to the authenticity of Dasam Granth Sahib. According to a panel of scholars established in the late 19th century, there was no question over the validity of any bani of Dasam Granth Sahib. Jathedar Giani Kulwant Singh asked all Sikhs to abide by the valuable research of this panel and to respect the mandate of Akal Takhat Sahib that bars any anti-Dasam Granth Sahib controversies.
Singh Sahib Giani Kulwant Singh held that to provide honor to the writings of Guru Gobind Singh Ji was the responsibility of the Khalsa Panth, which must also ensure that the status of these banis is not disparaged. Giani Kulwant Singh further applauded efforts by Sikhs worldwide to celebrate the grand Gurta-Gaddi of Guru Granth Sahib Ji at a large scale. The jyoti-jot Gurpurab of Guru Gobind Singh Ji was also celebrated at Takhat Sri Hazoor Sahib by hundreds of thousands of Sikhs from different countries.
Takhat Sri Hazoor Sahib, the place where Guru Gobind Singh Ji spent the last years of his physical life, have been fully adamant on providing respect to the Dasam Granth Sahib, the scripture by Guru Gobind Singh Ji. An important institute of the Sikh religion, Takhat Sri Hazoor Sahib has done a commendable job at preserving some historical saroops of Dasam Granth Sahib, some of them dating over two centuries old.
While addressing the Sikh Sangat, Singh Sahib Giani Kulwant Singh held that Sikhs living in different parts of the world needed to take inspiration from the lives of Sikhs living in Dakhan (the South). These Sikhs have adhered to the Sikh identity with full devotion. He held that Sikhs should keep full faith and belief in the worship of Akal Purakh (Puja Akal Ki) while taking a strong stand against Dehdhari/self styled Gurus. He also asked Sikh youth to stay away from drugs.
