Hyderabad, October 7: Guru Nanak Medical Centre,Secunderabad a unit of Guru Nanak Charitable Trust which has been offering yeomen services to the economically poor and downtrodden sections of the society for last six years has taken another bold initiative of providing affordable treatment to all the patients.

For the benefit of the patients, the centre today added another digitalised X-ray system, mini Physiotherapy unit. Last year three new facilities that include TMT, EEG and PFT. Previously, these facilities were arranged to get the MRI, TMT, EEG and PFT done on the charitable basis from outside popular diagnostic centres.

GNMC Chairman S Baldev Singh Bagga along with Secretary S Avatar Singh and Philanthropist and Patron S Ram Singh Bagga told reporters that GNMC which is entering into seventh year of its service to humanity, it has decided to arrange health camps in all Gurudwaras in Greater Hyderabad for all communities irrespective of caste and creed.

To improve the facilities further, GNMC has proposed to establish GNMC units in different Gurudwaras of the city. First such unit will be established at Gurudwara Saheb Ameerpet in about two months time. Providing facility for Heart angiography on charitable basis, Ophthalmic Theatre and Facilities for Dialysis etc will be established during the next one year.

Baldev Singh said that the medical centre, a non-profit charitable organisation has been doing yeoman services for the past five years for the needy, for the economically disadvantaged, unprivileged and all others providing quality medical services at highly subsidised affordable cost. GNMC taken another initiative of providing free generic medicines to poor patients without any charges.

The centre is well equipped with modern equipments and is offering medical services for pathology, cardiology, orthopaedic, gynaecology. ophthalmology, dermatology, dental, ENT etc at lowest cost. Apart from pathological and diagnostic instrumental technics like ECG, sonography, Ultra Sound, Doppler studies, 2-DECHO, TMT, EEG, PFT etc patients are well taken care of by our experienced general and family physicians.

The number of beneficiaries have increased from 40,000 in the fifth year to around 50,000 in the sixth year of operation, with a total of Rs 2.5 crore worth services rendered to the poor and needy.

The Trust has spent Rs 50 lakhs in the last year for the noble cause in addition to Rs 60 lakhs rent value of the establishment and wish to strive more spend more in the future programmes for the medical care, he added.

The GNMC was started with the persistent initiation and efforts of Chairman S.Baldev Singh Bagga and members of Gurudwara Sahib, Secunderabad who took a bold and philanthropist decision of helping the society in the field of medical care in order to contribute a bit of share for the cause of Humanity.

A FREE Seva Programme, known as "Biannual Medical Checkup for senior citizens", was introduced for senior citizens This year GNMC proposes to organise several FREE Medical Camps for most of the health problem areas including Orthopaedic, ophthalmology, hypertension, diabetic, cardiac etc.
