When Siri Singh Sahib Bhai Sahib Harbhajan Singh Khalsa Yogiji [aka Yogi Bhajan] first came to the United States in 1969 the Mexicans also were awaiting his arrival. In a country as vast and populated as the USA, Mexico still is a great contributor to our young American culture in so many ways. Most importantly, the way Mexico has adopted Kundalini Yoga and the Shabad Guru is a story in itself. All of the teachings of Yogi Bhajan and the Gurus flourish in Mexico. There are more than 1500 Kundalini Yoga Teachers who all teach the science of breath and Shabad Guru. Though devout Catholics, the Mexicans also embrace our lifestyle with a vigor and devotion unparalleled in North America. Since Yogi Bhajan arrived in the USA 42 years ago residents from the country of Mexico would come to learn and teach. Today, there is practically a teacher in every city in Mexico!
For the past 20 years Mexico in its devotion always has a Guru Ram Das weekend once a year. This year the timing worked out that we can combine their celebration with the 9th Lord of Miracles Tour in Honor of Guru Ram Das. And a great celebration it was.
Under the guidance of Arjun Singh Salmeron and Ravi Inder Kaur, this year's tour was hosted at a Catholic Convent in the Tlalpan section of Mexico City. More than 400 people participated in the weekend event including a whole day of healing workshops and therapies offered by different sangat and community members.

The Sangat organized a class open to the public which was held at a Mexican Government facility which was hosted by the 'Human Rights Ministry' in Mexico City. It was a very impactful class and we are now discussing possibilities in teaching the Mexico City Police force as well as working with this ministry in a number of Seva projects including Langar |

On Saturday, the tour was received with such a respect and love by S.S. Jai Hari Kaur Khalsa. That evening S.S.Gurubachan Singh Khalsa gave the Lord of Miracles Lecture and taught how you can maintain your internal balance when facing conflict and crisis. For more than 2 hours the participants listened, meditated and chanted their way to silence their mind, develop their intuition, strengthen their nervous system and remove fears and anxieties. Needless to say, the Mexican sangat performed with their entire strength and devotion. By the time the evening was over, they were uplifted, liberated from the entrapments of their mind and serene.
The following day, Sunday, the entire participants gathered for a beautiful Gurdwara. Participating also were a group of Ragi's from Dallas, Texas who also play Asa Di Var in the mornings as well as the Gurdwara. For 3 hours everyone meditated and chanted. Following Gurdwara, the local Indian community served a most delicious Langar for everyone.
On Monday, the Tour was hosted by Sohan Kaur who is a lawyer with the Metropolitan Human Resources Department of the Federal District of Mexico City. This agency is perhaps the most popular agency in all of Mexico City whose mission it is to preserve the rights of the citizens. Everyone loves this ministry. Following our lecture, we were hosted by several members of the administration including the personal secretary to the Minister. She was so impressed when we spoke about all the work that we do she wanted to have her minister and her agency to participate in the expansion of our teachings to all agencies in the government. It was very exciting to hear that she is also planning on us teaching the National and Federal Police of Mexico the same that we teach 5 other South American police Departments.
Although our stay in Mexico was short, the amount of impact was very large. We look forward to continuing our work through the guidance of our beloved Guru Ram Das Ji.
