Photographs of some of the students who participated in the 1996 Columbia University Summer Program of Punjabi Language and Culture Studies in Chandigarh.

Nine students participated in this first ever course about the Punjab for students of North American universities to be held in the Punjab itself. Together with their professor Dr. Gurinder Singh Mann, they studied history, arts, politics, culture, religion . . . anything and everything having to do with Punjab . . . under the tutelage of some of the top Punjabi scholars.

Plans are in the works to hold the course every year.  The 1998 and 1999 courses were a great success!
