Dear Js:
Thanks for the additional information. The funny thing is that the man they revere Baba Ram Singh has categorically stated that he should not be considered a Guru. Yet, Namdharis of today keep on promoting the idea of living Guruship. They are NOT even being loyal to the man they claim loyalty to. I hope they will take the time to read more about him and understand that he never wanted to be considered a Guru.

In the August 2001 issue of Spokesman (Chandigarh) an article was published: Will Sikh Firmament's Bright Star (Baba Ram Singh) end up as the head of an anti-Gurmat sect?, by Gurtej Singh, Professor of Sikhism.

He wrote that a collection of 52 letters that were written from a prison in Rangoon (Burma) by Baba Ram Singh were compiled in a book, "Kukiyan Di Vithiya" [History of Kukas] by the noted historian Dr. Ganda Singh. Gurtej Singh has posted excerpts from these letters. Below I am posting some excerpts from the article in the Spokesman.

I need not become a Guru, nor Brahma. I need only Gursikhi....They are barking needlessly. They have become mad.

There is but one Guru Granth Sahib. Accept Guru Granth Sahib as the Guru manifest. Whoever wishes to meet God should find Him in Guru Granth Sahib. I am a perfect fool but have taken refuge under the Guru.

Brothers after the Ten Patshahis (Sovereign Gurus), Guru Granth Sahib is the Guru and is eternal. There is no other Guru...first, Sikhs were kind to Bir Singh, then to Maharaj (Singh) and now Sikhs have shown their kindness to me. Look, this is not false.

**************

Letter# 45

Granth Sahib is the manifest form of the Guru
