Dera chief tries for ‘truce’ with Sikhs

News Source: howrah.org

July 27: The spiritual head of the Dera Sacha Sauda, Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh has sought a truce with the Sikh community, offering to resolve all pending controversies and differences.

Significantly breaking his long silence on the year-long strife between his followers and the Sikhs during his monthly majlis or religious congregation in Sirsa, the Dera chief said he was prepared to "sit down and talk in the interest of peace and harmony".

Apparently subdued following fresh clashes in Dabwali and the continuing attacks on his followers across Punjab and Haryana, Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh said he had "never meant to disgrace Guru Gobind Singh or any of the Sikh Gurus."

The Dera chief also clarified that he had never asked any of his followers to resort to violence under any circumstance.

The religious guru said miscreants who had nothing to do with the Dera Sacha Sauda had been causing trouble. On the killing of the Sikh protester, Bakshish Singh in Mumbai, he insisted that he had left the venue completely unaware of the incident. "The police is now investigating the incident," he said.

On the rape and murder charges he is facing in the CBI special court at Ambala, Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh said, "I have full faith in the judiciary and truth will prevail in the end."

The softened stance of the Dera and its spiritual head has however failed to impress Sikh leaders who had come together for the bhog or memorial ceremony for Mandar Singh, the Sikh youth who died in the recent clash in Dabwali.

Addressing the ceremony, representatives of the Sant Samaj and Damdami Taksal insisted the Dera chief was unrepentant and was seeking a truce only because he sensed the tide turning against himself.

wipran ki reet - 17

These Shezdhari Sikhs are not Sikhs but Hindu Panjabis. The solution is from Panjab all persons without hairs should be kicked out of Panjab. khalistan first means all persons with long hairs - 17. Khalistan declared - 2008. Time is coming when you will not be required to go to the Other Gurudwaras because these same Hindus will do same as they did in 1984 - Operation Blue Star. Panjab suffered on account of Hindu Panjabis.

Country

Well, it has A LOT more to do with Khalistan than Sikhs like you believe to think. If there was a Khalistan, there wouldn't have been a 1984. If Sikhs had Khalistan, they wouldn't have to be so OVER politically correct when stating their "requests", since they cannot demand anything with the lack of power they have now. If there was a Khalistan, Sikhs wouldn't have to call in Hindu cops, lawyers, and army regiments when they have internal clashes. Any internal SIKH ISSUE becomes in the OPEN because Sikhs have no choice but to call in outsiders for help since they don't have a country of their own. This Dera issue is the same thing. Here we have an imposter come in and his followers are a huge voting block...they have killed Sikhs in the so-called "Sikh Homeland" and he walks. He isn't spiritual or holy. I don't see why it's so offensive and narrow-minded to want your own country. Jews, Christians, Muslims, Buddhists all have their own countries. Sikhs are the ONLY major religion that doesn't. And anytime this issue is brought up, traitor Sikhs always tell that person who brings up the point to sit down and be quiet. These sell-outs become the puppets of the establishment, and the establishment smiles silently. I am a Sikh moderate, and was quite anti-Khalistan, since I was in Punjab in the '80s. After I saw that there was still no justice for Sikhs 24 years later, I realize that an independent country or extreme self-autonomy is the only solution. It's the bitter truth...so swallow it. I love India, but I love Sikhi even more...my inspiration comes from the founders of the modern country of Israel. They knew that having their own country was the only solution to end Jewish oppression and holocausts. Yes, 1984 was a holocaust.

Isreal is nothing to look up to

When 1984 happened it partially awakened the Sikh nation, it was karmic, it was the will of God. There can't be speculation what would have happened had there been a Khalistan, we don't know. Telling people to swallow your bitter truth is not a pleasant thing to say. Also calling other Sikhs of differing opinions "traitors" is not a way towards peace or unity. Do you want to help Sikhs or push a political agenda? Many of the Sikhs who suffered, suffer more at the very mention of such charged issues as Khalistan. There are many things that can be done for Punjabis and Sikhs before declaring a Khalistan. Also, the country of Israel was built upon oppression of the Palestinians who have been suffering for 50+ years, is that really a model we want to follow?

Country

Sikhs did not demanded for the freedom - Khalistan so that is why they are facing problems. In coming time problems will increase.

Re: Country

How will having a Khalistan solve a problem like this? In coming times problems will only increase if people continue to go away from the Guru. Khalistan or not, if the people of Punjab don't start uniting and working for a clean and peaceful environment for all Punjabis then problems will increase.
